Event Details

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with our Gulf Coast Affiliates and Rebuild1000.  With your help we can continue to work towards our goal of rebuilding 1000 homes!

Rebuidling Together Acadiana was established in 1998, and serviced approximately 65 homes per year until Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.  In the aftermath of the storms, the organization made strides to meet the needs of the community, completing its 500th home renovation project in 2006.  While the affiliate continues to work towards hurricane relief, it additionally manages three other local homes rehabilitation programs.

National Work Weeks occur in the parishes of Iberia, Vermillion, Lafayette, or Acadiana.  As the "cultural center" of Louisiana's heritage, the area is known as cajun country.  Its French, Caribbean, and Spanish ancestry is evident in the architecture, art, music, dance, food, and general way of life.  There are a variety of different activities available including swamp tours, historic attractions, casinos, and downtown Lafayette.

Please contact Dawn Lee at (202) 518-3130 or DLee@rebuildingtogether.org for more volunteer information and with any questions you may have in regards to your registration process.

Thanks again from the Rebuild1000 Team and Rebuilding Together Acadiana!
